Shira Center is a journalism and media leader who is passionate about elevating the vital role that publishing plays in our discourse and finding sustainable business models to ensure its viability as an industry.

For most of her career, she worked in newsrooms of various sizes, platforms and audiences. In 2020, she pivoted to the business side of publishing, where she pioneered a revenue role focused on finding new ways to financially support journalism without compromising the newsroom’s most valuable asset — its editorial integrity. Within three years, she grew her team, expanded its portfolio and completed her MBA at Yale while working full-time.
