Vicky Díaz-Camacho

Vicky Díaz-Camacho is an Emmy-winning journalist from El Paso, TX, skilled in digital editing, podcast creation, production, and hosting. She was a member of the Constellation News Leadership Initiative class of 2023-2024.

Her expertise spans art, housing, homelessness, and social welfare, particularly as they affect communities of color. Her work focuses on issues like mental health in BIPOC communities, health access, and inequities in public policy and social justice.

From 2023 to 2024, Díaz-Camacho served as WHYY’s multiplatform producer, reporting on housing, health, culture, and art, both on air and online. Her work has been featured in WHYY News, Studio 2, Billy Penn, Plan Philly, The Philadelphia Tribune, and WESA. Previous publications include Kansas City PBS, Flatland KC, KCUR, NPR, Alt.
